Shopping Amnesia
July 13, 2012Written by Marykate Wurster, mother of 3 wonderful children, Riverside CT
Do you ever feel like the Target Lady? Even though you are trying very hard not to be the Target Lady?
Sometimes, this happens to me… I walk into Target to buy a birthday present. On my way to the toys section I stop by a Fourth of July display and buy some flags for my children. And then I notice that sunscreen is on sale. After that I am not sure what happens except to know that I am suddenly in the check out line, my cart full of merchandise.
This phenomenon also happens when I find myself at a flea market, the Greenwich sidewalk sales, or an end of season sale (especially when snow pants and snow boots are involved). There is the before, and the after, but what happens while at the store is lost, evaporated, gone. Diagnosis: shopping amnesia.
Does anyone else suffer from this? And can anything be done about it?
