Science IS Fun (Giveaway)

April 26, 2010

Meet the Learning Resources Primary Science Set:

I love, love, love fun sets to get the adorables excited about Science.

Experimenting, making predictions, testing, and well, just playing are all great skills for any adorable to practice.

No matter the mess.

Really.

So we set up shop in our kitchen sink:

We started with food coloring, because I’m sure all great scientists including Einstein started with food coloring.

Kidding on that one.

And oh my goodness did the adorables have fun.

The best thing (in my opinion) about this set is the included experiment cards that help you move beyond just mixing water in the sink.

Not that the adorables would ever be bored with this…

One activity called for us to place a stalk of celery into blue water and notice what happens.  Do you see the blue moving up the stalk?

But the coolest thing we noticed was this:

See those blue-edged leaves?  Pretty, eh?

There are 20 or so cool activities like to go – I won’t ruin the rest of them for you!

Giveaway

You can win a Primary Science Set just by leaving a comment by Friday , April 30th and I’ll choose the winner using Random.org on Saturday, May 1st (whoa nelly! May??).

You can get an extra entry by emailing 5 of your friends about The Good Stuff Guide (or tweeting or leaving something about TGSG as your status update on Facebook).  As always, I trust ya!

Good luck!

Okay. You always have the best stuff. As a former science teacher, this one is super cool! I would love working on this stuff with my two kiddos.

That food coloring with water trick works great with light colored flowers too! We have a white peoney bush and each year we take at least one full bloom and stick the stem in colored water. Pretty neat.

We LOVE science in our house. In fact just this past weekend spent a lot of time at the Cambridge Science Festival. If you are around the Boston area, check it out…
