Nutcracker Ballet
December 14, 2015Written by Marykate O’Malley, mother of three wonderful children, Gladwyne PA
One of my favorite holiday traditions is the Nutcracker Ballet. Every year I see something new, experience something new, and also experience something the same: embark on a magical and enchanting adventure with Marie and her Prince. The music, the sets, costumes, and dancers, and then the Academy of Music are all so visually gorgeous and ornate that it is like a Christmas dream with the lights, music, and beauty all in one show.
Fashions and trends come and go, but true art surpasses time. I like to think one day my grandchildren may be sitting in the same seats I am, with their parents, and the same expressions of awe and delight.
Take your children, your parents, go with your friends, there is still time! The Pennsylvania Ballet’s performances at The Academy of Music are:
Thursday, December 17 at 11:00am and 7:00pm
Friday, December 18 at 11:00am and 7:00pm
Saturday, December 19 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm
Sunday, December 20 at 12:00pm and 5:00pm
