MVW: College Town, USA
April 7, 2010Happy Mini-Vacation Wednesday to you!
This past Saturday, Team Farmer kidnapped our neighbors and we all drove down to the Running Man’s Alma mater for the day.
I always forget how much there is to do around a college campus on a beautiful day in the spring.
Get a load of this blooming tree.
We grabbed sandwiches at the local dive that always has a line out the door (Hoagie Haven and I should have taken a photo so you could see it!)…
and headed down to the Sports Complex.
We caught a couple innings of the baseball game.
Elder adorable was a happy guy.
Then we wandered over for a little women’s lacrosse. Great game!
The zany band was there to cheer on the team and the adorables could have watched them all day.
They were full of fun and antics.
And I’ve never see an instrument such as this in a college band. That really is 2 upside down plastic Halloween pumpkins attached in the middle, in case you were wondering.
Younger adorable LOVED it.
He was a dancing machine.
Then we wandered over to the track meet and the pole vaulters caught all of our attention. Pretty impressive really.
I loved all the wandering between the 3 different sports events. Since everything was free, it was very easy to do.
Then we had to get some ice cream downtown. I can’t think of a single time I’ve visited a college and not gotten ice cream.
(Insert photo of me inhaling ice cream here.)
Then just to make doubly sure the adorables were good and wiped out, we did one last quickish trek through the campus. Running Man lived in this dorm his sophomore year and man, would I have loved to follow him around then – but maybe it’s better I didn’t!
Gorgeous, isn’t it?
