Lobstah
September 9, 2009If you’ve lived on a Maine island for 20 years, and you’ve ventured out of your home a few times to get supplies, chances are you’ve met a good lobsterman.
And chances are that lobsterman is good and kind (he is, after all, from Maine) and loves to give adorables the opportunity to “catch” lobsters, even if only in imaginary terms.
He is probably humored to leave lobsters in the trap at the end of your dock in hopes that good little adorables will think they have “caught” them.
So here’s how this played out for us…
Heave ho!
Pull a little harder! Almost there…
Success!
Poor little succulent creatures.
Dance, Monkey, Dance.
These were softshells, so they were fun to touch.
The anticipation was killing me…
Ready for transport.
Now here’s something I didn’t know: if you stand a lobster on its head and rub gently between its eyes, it will become hypnotized.
And stay there just like this.
And then we put the adorables to bed (!) and ate ourselves silly.
I was responsible for three. Yes, really.

on September 9, 2009 11:13 amI love this post! It is too cute that the kids think they caught the lobsters! They are going to go through life thinking lobster claws are always taped!
