Stunning Mediterranean
April 30, 2010Happy Home Tour Friday to you!
Today we’re headed to Texas to see a gorgeous custom Mediterranean home in the Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas.
We’re in for a treat…
Isn’t this beautiful? The scale is what blows me away. There’s so much to love, but it’s these very tall, thin trees that make it perfect for me.
The front door and its adornments make quite the impression.
Okay, here’s where my gardening jaw drops – the landscaping is outstanding.
Here’s another look at these intricate beds and walks. I need to get the adorables proficient with the trimmer stat (or maybe I’ll wait until they’re 12, but it’s going to be a long 7 years).
And it just got better. Pool. Pool house – Bring on the soirees.
That’s me in the lounge chair while the adorables are shaping bushes.
Moving inside….
This photo of the entryway has me thinking about scale. Higher ceilings, thicker walls, 12-inch baseboards, wider mouldings – all of these together keep the scale proportional.
Love these lighting fixtures and the open beams.
In the living room, this coffered ceiling is awesome and this room opens to…
My favorite room of the home! Who wouldn’t love all these gorgeous windows?
The kitchen is Texas-sized with great exposed beams in the ceiling.
The library, again with – my favorite – a coffered ceiling, radiates. The art. The chairs. The subtle masculinity. Gorgeous.
Many, many thanks to Stephen Chambers, residential architect, of Stephen B. Chambers Architects, Inc. for this gorgeous home tour. Photos by Stephanie Chambers.
Have a great weekend!

on April 30, 2010 8:16 amWhat a stately home!! I’d love to go to a party there or hang by the pool or sit in the sun room reading a wonderful novel or walking around the grounds or………
Glad your willing to wait until the adorables reach the ageof 12 before letting them run loose with the prunning shears! My imagination runs wild thinking of what they could do with them now, especially the younger adorable!
