Halloween Candy Science
October 31, 2009First of all, Happy Halloween to you!
We’ve been eagerly anticipating this day for a loooonnnnnggggg time. Truth be told, I think I’m just as excited as the adorables. (In case you were wondering: elder = pirate; younger = cowboy).
And while I do LOVE the abundance of Halloween candy this day produces, I found an excellent idea in Family Fun Magazine that I thought I should share. You can also see the full article here.
.
So get out your splat mat and some bowls of water, soda, and whatever else you can think of…
And let the kids go crazy doing experiments with their candy.
This bubbling action occurs when you add Smarties to Fresca. There must be a orange M&M in there too for the color.
We did this with our limited on-hand candy resources, but visit CandyExperiments.com to see a bevy of experiment ideas.
