Easter Tidings
April 6, 2010I hope your Easter was full of happiness and cheer!
We enjoyed the most spectacular warm and sunny day, and our Easter agenda surpassed our anticipation for the day. Success!
Don’t you love the compulsory “Mom made us get all dressed up and she needs to document the event by making us stand still and smile” photo?
This was the 15th attempt, mind you…
And here’s their natural state! They are rambunctious, happy boys after all.
After church, our neighbors invited us to brunch and an Easter Egg hunt at their club.
Here’s our elder adorable, Sloan, on his race to the eggs. His strategy (with direction from the Running Man) was to leave the immediate eggs for the younger adorables and head out to the far reaches of the egg hunting area for his loot.
Younger adorable, Boden, was all about the immediate gratification…
Thanks to my friend Gretchen for handing down this outfit to my adorable – it’s my favorite!
Even stopping for a smile for mom.
But back to business…
Here’s Sloan in full concentration mode. There’s candy involved, after all.
After 5.6 minutes, all eggs were claimed by their new owners and my elder adorable claimed a lot of them.
Then we met the Easter Bunny who passed out more candy. Holy sugar high.
How was your Easter? What traditions do you have? How did your adorables make out? Did you go minimalist this year?

on April 8, 2010 7:19 amOur Easter was very minimal, as my brother had outpatient surgery on Saturday, and we had 2 birthday parties on Saturday too:> it was a crazy weekend anyway. We (my sons and I )had made figolas (a double layered almond paste filled, decorated Easter -shaped cookie)customary Easter tradition for Malta, as my mother is from there, it is an annual habit, this was done at mom’s house). We usually have my other siblings around but as it was in my mom;s kitchen for the first time it was like baking in a closet. I believe the red dye has just bleached off my hands.
The closest cookies I even seen are the cookies about 12″high that are in the cookie bouquet. And of course we went to Church, and had an Easter Egg hunt at my aunt;s house. The only thing I didn’t get to do with my sister was go to see the Easter bunny with my kids, Justin 10, and Vincent 7, as they had been sick.
