Classic in Carolina
July 22, 2011Written by Contributing Writer, Sarah Farthing
This fabulous historic remodel is located in the western North Carolina mountains, just outside of Hendersonville, NC (think Asheville, NC).
Sided in poplar shingles, with gorgeous copper gutters, this house is stunning at first glance.
The twisted wood railings throughout the house were made locally and add a beautiful natural element to the interior of the home.
The wood in this home is absolutely gorgeous and the exposed beams in the high ceilings lend a sort of quiet grandeur to the space. This is the great room open to the kitchen you can see there in the background…
Here’s a closer look at the room we’re all dying to see!
Reclaimed wood was used to ’tile’ the back splash in the kitchen, a wonderful idea for this home nestled in the trees.
This granite on the counters is from Brazil.
One more shot of the kitchen, I just couldn’t let you miss all that pretty green right outside the windows!
I love a guest bathroom with this much personality! Look at those fabulous light fixtures:
Gorgeous sink….
Here’s another bathroom counter I could learn to live with! So pretty and so much space:
A few bedroom images so you can imagine just how cozy a stay here would be:
I could curl up here with a good book for a looooong while…
The attention to detail here is magnificent; look at this towel rack…
…a leaf embedded in beautiful wood…
… and stunning hardware.
All of that rustic brilliance plus a view like this:
Home Sweet Home, indeed!
Kudos to architectural designer Betsy Edwards Design, Inc. on a job well done on this home in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
