A Killer Mudroom/Laundry Combo…
September 22, 2011What is it about Laundry and Mudrooms? Is it because we spend so much time in there? Is it because we need so much storage to stow stuff? I just feel “fulled up full” when I see a good one.
We’re off to San Francisco to see a room that is innovative and has enough storage to make me double over with excitement.
This is the Mudroom side. Closed storage for coats, boots, extra shoes, etc. Baskets to stow hats and gloves (sorry I live in cold weather. In San Francisco, you only need them in July… yes, really). And hooks for everyday coats and sweaters.
And this is the Laundry side of the room. First I salivate over the sink. (I need to get out more, I really do). Second, I love the counter over the washers that really finishes the room and makes that space so much more functional. But it’s the cabinets with the etched glass that make this room so innovative.
Here’s another look:
I mean seriously. Isn’t that fun? (in a “Heidi” sort of way?)
Tineke Triggs of Artistic Designs for Living was the brilliant designer of this great space. You can find more information about her here.
Click here to see her amazing work. I had a great time clicking through all the various photos. I just love before and afters…

on August 17, 2009 12:13 pmThe counter over the washer/dryer is brilliant! I would have never thought to do that! That would save me from trying to fish socks and wash clothes out from behind (and the little gap between) my washer and dryer with a hanger!
