Mountain Majesty
April 13, 2012Happy, happy Friday the 13th!
We’re in Colorado this week (not skiing, as planned), and I couldn’t resist a Colorado home to celebrate.
Located in Fort Collins, Colorado, this excellent mountain home is full of Alpine details.
Love the solid fortress look of this stone and brick. Though new, it looks like it’s been in the neighborhood for a long time.
Look at all the detail – the masonry is incredible.
The main living room with it’s cathedral ceiling showcases the gorgeous view perfectly.
The library is pretty gorgeous with plenty of room for our book collection…
but this is the show-stopper of the room. Check out how this granite surround mimics the effect of flames. I’ve never seen anything like it and I think it’s stunning.
We’ve seen many gorgeous kitchens on these home tours, but this one is perfect to me. Love the double island, the antiqued cabinets, these fun overhead lights…
Look at this ceiling in the eating nook – like we’re visiting an alpine village.
The rear view of the home, captured in the gorgeous late afternoon sun, is to me the perfect design: ample deck for entertaining, big open windows to drink in the view, an elevated prospect to take full advantage of the mountain landscape, and a walk-out lower level to maximize usable entertaining space.
Gorgeous!
Special thanks to Jon Rentfrow, of Rentfrow Design, for the amazing tour. Jon was the Home Designer on the project. The home was built by Brannen Homes, custom home builders in Northern Colorado.
Thank you also to Warren Diggles Photography for the use of his stunning photos.
A happy birthday to my mom!
Have a great weekend, y’all!
