And Next Door…
September 25, 2009Home Tour Friday is here!
(I look forward to these so much. It’s just FUN.)
Remember the Traverse City WOW-home from last week?
We’re traveling right next door. Which is where the grandparents live.
And here’s the kicker: they have 10 (yes, 10) grandchildren who are 3.5 years apart. Can you imagine the chaos that ensues at Christmastime? I love it.
The homes were constructed at the same time, yet they really have their own personalities. And both, beautiful.
Gorgeous.
These cabinets are all custom and I love that they extend to the ceiling. Beaucoup storage.
I particularly love the style and color of these cabinets – so warm and rich.
This 3-sided windowed room overlooking the lake (with close proximity to snacks) is where I would live. I just love this room.
The Butler’s Pantry has an extra refrigerator. Love that it is close and handy.
It’s hard to tell scale from photographs, but this fireplace is 20 feet long.
Another look. Love the integrated flatscreen.
Either Dean himself, or someone on his team, clearly understands laundry rooms.
This room actually makes doing laundry look fun. And that is saying something!
The master bedroom is lovely and I love the cottage feel of the horizontal plank walls.
Wouldn’t you love to turn on Oprah and soak in the tub? Methinks someday one of those grandkids will have some fun out that window…
This is the screened porch with a clear view of the lake.
It is located directly adjacent the sunroom off the kitchen.
I’ve saved the best of the best for last:
The grandchildren’s bunk room. With beds and cubbies for all of those beautiful children.
I can’t imagine much sleep occurs here!
Many thanks to the builder, Dean Adams of Bay Area Contracting for the wonderful tour. A masterful contractor to say the least.
Partnering on this home were:
Ken Williams, Architect, Design Classic
Shane Inman, Interior Designer, The Inman Company
Old Mission Windows, Traverse City, MI
Many thanks to Courville Imaging for the use of the photographs.
