Bathroom Organization
January 24, 2013written by Cathy Baker, mom of two tween daughters, livin’ in the Missouri Ozarks
Living with two tween daughters, we have A LOT of stuff in the bathroom. My biggest problem is that the girls bathroom is also our main bathroom. Ugh. (You feel my pain, don’t you?!) Well several months ago, I went searching for ideas to organize their bathroom. There are tons of ideas out there, so I thought I’d share a few with you!
First, this is seriously what under my bathroom sink looked like. See those bins.
They did not work. Obviously. So, my amazing husband, built this simple shelf with plastic tub drawers, that I saw on Pink Toes and Power Tools blog. We also attached a couple of magazine holders (similar to these ones on amazon) to the doors to keep curling irons and such in…and here is the result…
And the best part?! Over six months later and it still looks like the this!!
Here are some other ideas I am considering incorporating into their bathroom…
Magnet Board – put magnets on back of makeup and cups…easy to see, grab, and put back! I think this may be a MUST in a few years. Tip: A lot of your dry-erase boards are also magnetic, so if you just cover them with some scrapbook paper, you can match your decor!
Do you have any idea how many nail polishes we have?! Well we need a rainbow of colors to try our all these fun ideas! If you need a spice rack for this purpose, you can try one of these.
Here’s a simple way to organize your bathroom drawer – with a silverware tray!
For the shower: A Second Shower Rod, in the back – with baskets and hooks attached. I’ve seen it up high and down low (easy to reach for bath toys). How clever!
So, what are you waiting for, go ahead and add a bit of organization to your bathroom! You can thank yourself later!
