A Major Kitchen Renovation…
November 26, 2010It’s House Tour Friday, and we’re heading to the Underwood family home in Atlanta to see a dream kitchen.
Here’s what their kitchen looked like before…
And after a little magic (and a little dust), it became this:
When I see a gorgeous, new kitchen, I want to volunteer to help move in. Nothing makes me happier than to fill empty cabinets, organize drawers, and put food away. (Yes, really.)
Lest you think it was a small room…
Here’s the real shot where we can see how spacious the room is. See the Butler’s Pantry hidden back there? Oh the platter storage!
There’s a warming drawer next to the stove…
I think there’s even enough room in here for my Costco-sized everything! Love the organization.
This slide-out drawer for spices and pots is great. I’m looking forward to using my lower drawers again once the adorables are older. They’d make short work of those spices! (And yes, I did see the knives there too…)

on September 28, 2009 1:44 amThe first kitchen remodeling tip is to consider the three basic kitchen functions: storage, food preparation, and clean-up. A well-thought out kitchen design will accommodate each of these three functions.

on December 2, 2010 10:52 amW.O.W. I thought it looked great in the first photo (reminded me of the youngsters’ kitchen @ http://www.younghouselove.com) – and then I scrolled down. Fantastic! When we moved about 7 years ago, we had a day and a half for house-hunting (I know – pressure!). One of my favorites that we didn’t buy had a butler’s pantry (and a red den, and a sitting room before you entered the master suite, and… – but the tiny yard what was turned us away…). I still think about that butler’s pantry!!!
