You Need to Sit For This…
October 9, 2009I’m sorry to be telling you what to do, but there it is.
For today’s Home Tour, we are in for a special treat.
A dear reader (thank you!) alerted me to these wonderful craftsman.
Okay, deep breaths (I’m saying this for my own benefit). Here we go…
This is the playroom of some very lucky adorables.
A swing, a ladder for the armoire, forget the adorables: I want to play here.
The armoire is HUGE and was designed to fit within the overall look of the room. Also wired for the family’s flatscreen, it packs a wallop of storage space.
The rope detail at the top of the ladder and the drybrushing on all the hardware was added in order to pull in elements from the treehouse which is on the other side of the room.
Details, details. Everywhere.
Games, toys, puzzles, we’d have this all organized. But we’d have room for more…
This is the platform on the other side of the room.
Hello! Art center, stage, you name it – this is FUN.
Here’s more ingenuity: once the adorables have had their fill with the table, it simply folds up into the wall. The underside becomes a magnetic chalk board. Can you imagine?
In the floor these brilliant designers have added storage.
I’m seriously drooling.
Each of the drawers is lined with carpet (matching the floor) so nothing gets broken.
This amazing room was designed and built by the wonders at KidTropolis in Vienna, VA. You can contact them at www.kidtropolisbuild.com.
A special thank you for the use of their photos.

on October 9, 2009 10:19 amLove everything. Especially the table that folds up onto the wall. Guess that wouldn’t be too outrageous of a task to try in our home.
