Sour Patch Grapes
August 27, 2012written by Cathy Baker, mom of two sweet daughters, from Missouri
This summer, we discovered this really easy, really fun, really yummy, and somewhat healthy snack to make! They are called Sour Patch Grapes, or ‘glitter grapes’. Basically you take either green or red grapes – rinse them – pick any flavor jello – roll the wet grapes in the dry jello powder – and eat! Well you are suppose to let the jello ‘set’ for an hour or so, but we can never wait that long! 🙂 If you wait for them to set, I think it does help to not get the food coloring on your fingers. We’ve tried several flavors, but my favorite is the watermelon jello with the green grapes!
I found the idea at Pure Sugar blog, and she has step-by-step directions, with pictures, if you wanted to take a look!
So, if you’re looking for a fun back to school idea for their lunch boxes, an after school snack, or for something to take to your BBQ this coming Labor Day – I highly recommend trying these!

on August 28, 2012 9:56 pmWe used lime jello to make these for our daughter’s “Halloween Birthday Party” this summer. (Yep, a Halloween party – costumes and all – it’s what she wanted!) We used lime jello and they were VERY green! And sour! The watermelon flavor sounds tasty!
