Elf Donuts
December 17, 2012written by Cathy Baker, mom of two sweet tweens, living in the Ozarks of Missouri
Last Christmas I came across these adorable ‘donuts‘ and knew they’d make perfect ‘elf donuts’! We made a couple boxes of them on Christmas Eve Day and left them with the milk and cookies for Santa to take back to the elves! Might also be a fun treat to leave for your ‘elf on the shelf’ too!
They are so simple to make too! You start with Cherrios. To make powdered donuts, you simply pour the cheerios and powdered sugar into a ziploc bag, and shake. Take out…and you’re done!
To make frosted donuts, you have to melt just a few chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave, simply dip your cherrios in the chocolate, and then we had sprinkles on a plate, so we then dipped the donut in the sprinkles…and look at all this cuteness!
My parents had a ton of match stick boxes, so we just covered them with wrapping paper…and they were the perfect size to keep the elf donuts in!
Oh, and your kids will love eating elf donuts too, so plan to make a few dozen extra! 🙂
